University of Oregon - Sports Product Management Program

New Master’s Program Creates Future Sports Product Industry Leaders

This September the University of Oregon welcomes its first class in the newly created Master’s of Science in Sports Product Management in Portland, Oregon. This first-of-its-kind program will choose 40 students to be part of the elite group who will spend 18-months learning the complete sports product life cycle from the world’s best academics and industry experts.

Students learn every step of the sports product life cycle starting with using consumer insights to develop product strategy, ideating to bring product ideas to life through product development and design, and executing by coming to market at retail.  An integrative project turns theory into hands-on practice as students create a product prototype complete with a business plan.

This program was created with the sports product industry to meet the need for new hires to be ready with the high-demand skills required to be successful in the global sports product industry. 

There’s a unique opportunity for sports product companies to access this talent before students hit the market after graduation.  Student completes an internship in summer 2016 with U.S. students going abroad and international students remaining in the U.S.  Companies are already submitting requests for interns but there is still space.  To learn more about the internship program, please contact uospm@uoregon.edu.  To learn more about the program, please visit spm.uoregon.edu.
